Summary
Due to expansion, we are currently looking to recruit a deputy manager for a residential children's home in Nottingham. This is a great opportunity to join a growing company and to be able to help support and shape the lives of children and young people.
The main purposes of the job includes:
• To assist the manager in achieving the aims and objectives of the Statement of Purpose and the Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
• Effectively support in safeguarding the children and young people within our care.
• To deputise in the absence of the Registered Manager.
• To support and manage the staff to enable them to meet the needs of the children.
• To undertake direct work with Children as appropriate.
• To be the responsible person in managing child protection concerns and complaints.
• To work in partnership with other professionals to achieve optimum outcomes for young people.
• To offer supervision and support to staff in line with Children's Homes Regulations 2015.
The suitable candidate will have NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People Workforce, or equivalent, and willing to work towards Level 5. It is also a requirement that they hold a full driving licence, due to the nature of the role, and have a minimum of 2 years experience of working in a residential setting with young people with challenging behaviour (EBD) or similar setting (1 year in a supervisory capacity).
Salary is dependant on experience and the hours of work will predominantly be on a rota basis, however, overtime will be available.
This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS)
