Summary


An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapist with an interest and experience in neurology to join our newly established neuro rotation. You will be part of a large, friendly, and dynamic multidisciplinary team, based at Royal London and Mile End Hospitals, with rotations in, HASU and acute stroke, community stroke team, acute neurosciences and neuro trauma, hyper-acute neuro rehabilitation and community neuro team.



These rotations will provide opportunities to provideassessment and intervention to adults with both acquired and progressive neurological conditions which is holistic, and goal orientated. You will be given the opportunity to develop knowledge, skills, and experience with working with those with traumatic brain injury including disorders of consciousness, and post -traumatic amnesia, poly trauma, spinal cord injury, stroke, MND, and functional neurological disorder. The rotation choices will enable you to follow patients through their journey from acute to rehab and community.



The ideal candidate will have a passion for neuro Occupational Therapy, excellent communication skills, plenty of initiative and enthusiasm, and with the ability to work autonomously and as a part of a wider MDT.You will be committed to your own learning and development and ways to innovate occupational therapy practice.



To provide specialist assessment and intervention to clients with neurological conditions,determining neurological impairment, activity limitation and participation / role restrictions and develop the occupational therapy treatment program required.



To work in an integrated way with inter team colleagues and external agencies spanning acute, primary care, community health services and the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.



To participate in the continued service development of the Neurological Occupational Therapy service.
