As a Graduate Cover Supervisor, you'll play a vital role in maintaining continuity of learning by delivering pre-planned lesson content to students in the absence of their regular teacher. Your responsibilities will include ensuring that lessons run smoothly, managing student behaviour effectively, and providing support to students as needed. With the guidance and support of our experienced senior leadership and teaching team, you'll have the opportunity to develop your teaching skills and become an engaging and effective educator. Candidates with experience as supply teachers are encouraged to apply, and can be assured that this Graduate Cover Supervisor role will see them working exclusively at this Stockport secondary school, with no expectation to be sent to other institutions.
When there are no teacher absences for the Graduate Cover Supervisor to fill, they will be deployed in any available capacity at the school; perhaps as a TA, Academic Mentor or LSA. Furthermore, you will spend your downtime assisting the teaching team with marking, lesson planning etc and may be deployed to provide intervention with SEN students. As such, the successful candidate will benefit from extremely varied and divers experiences which will be invaluable for future teaching roles, and will stand out on a CV for fully qualified teaching roles in future.
