Key Responsibilities:
- Supporting the teaching and learning activities within the Alternative Provision, under the guidance of the teaching staff
- Building positive relationships with students and providing pastoral support to help address behavioural challenges
- Implementing behaviour management strategies and interventions to promote positive behaviour and engagement
- Assisting with the planning and delivery of individualised learning activities tailored to students' needs and abilities
- Collaborating with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment that fosters academic and personal growth
- Maintaining accurate records of student progress, behaviour incidents, and interventions
Requirements:
- Previous experience working with challenging behaviour in a school setting is essential
- A compassionate and empathetic approach to supporting students with diverse needs and backgrounds
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents/carers
- Resilience and adaptability to effectively manage challenging situations and behaviour
- A proactive and positive attitude, with a genuine passion for making a difference in the lives of young people
- Relevant qualifications or training in supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) or behavioural difficulties (desirable)
