Summary


An opportunity has arisen for a COPD Coordinator to join our team within the Inpatient Medical Service Unit at Manchester Royal Infirmary.

As an COPD Coordinator you will be responsible for supporting the Clinical Service Unit in the management of a range of patient waiting lists for a range of specialties to ensure a high quality service is provided at all times. You will be an integral member of the Clinical Service Unit and will liaise with staff at all levels. In return we will provide you with excellent training and opportunities to develop your skills.

The post holder will schedule and book a range of patient activity including outpatient appointments, inpatient/day case admissions and diagnostic procedures. This will require an understanding of all associated administrative tasks. The post holder will support the Specialist COPD Team in the management of a range of patient waiting lists for Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease, Oxygen and Pulmonary Rehabilitation to ensure a high quality service is always provided; this will require key performance indicator knowledge such as referral- to treatment pathways and cancer targets. The post holder will be responsible for call handling; dealing with patients/carers, GPs, a range of external and internal staff both within and outside of the NHS.



The above indicates the main duties of the post which may be reviewed in the light of experience and developments within the service. Any review will be undertaken in conjunction with the post holder. The post-holder will also undertake any other duties which are deemed appropriate to the band when requested by senior staff.
