The Role - School Caretaker

Pinnacle Group are looking for a school caretaker to manage the delivery of all site services to meet the requirements of the contract and to ensure the smooth running of the premises for the school and for other users. This covers management of all onsite maintenance and the provision of the all internal and external services sites to a high standard and in accordance with the Service Level Agreements (SLA’s) or as directed by the Facilities Manager/Senior Site controller.

This is a full time part time position working 25 hours per week, Monday - Friday

Duties/Key Responsibilities

•Ensuring security integrity of the school buildings and grounds through locking and unlocking, patrols and monitoring third party lettings.

•Carry out day-to -day duties according to daily schedule, i.e., littler picking, sweeping, refreshing toilets and cleaning

•Carry out defined Planned Preventative Maintenance responsibilities in accordance with statutory requirements.

•Where appropriate provide access, escort and supervise on site contractors undertaking remedial work or Planned Prevented Maintenance.

•Carry out minor repairs and decoration works. Investigating reactive requests, carrying out temporary repairs and notifying management of further repairs required.

•Participate in cleaning/deep cleaning activities as and when required.

•To undertake regular inspections of the building and grounds to ensure that all reactive maintenance are logged with the helpdesk and appropriate action taken.

•To comply with the Health and Safety Policy and Codes of Practice.

•To be a named Pinnacle Key holder and attend emergency out of hours calls if required.

•To attend any company training as required by your manager

•To take key responsibilities in the absence of the Senior site controller or as instructed by the Facilities Manager.

Skills Required

•Range of general handyman skills such as general DIY skills, minor plumbing, carpentry, electrical

•Good customer service skills

•Amenable and approachable personality

•Ability to liaise with and assist external service providers

•Ability to work in a team

•Ability to multi skill

•Willingness to learn new skills and undertake training to develop role

•Flexible and adaptable in approach

•To be able to demonstrate the behaviors required as outlined in the Living the Values section of the Pinnacle Way booklet.

•Any prior knowledge of Health and Safety guidelines i.e COSHH would be beneficial.

As this role will involve working in school's confirmation of appointment will be subject to completion of a satisfactory Disclosure Barring Service Check.
