A multi-million pound investment is underway within our Imaging department. The Trust has secured a share of £350m national funding to be one of the first 40 new Community Diagnostic Centres (CDCs) announced by the Government and NHS.

The new Community Diagnostic Centre is part of the Crown Street Enhancements Programme at Liverpool Women’s and will include brand new CT, and MRI imaging facilities, due for completion in February 2023. In addition to this the department has recently invested in updating the x-ray, DEXA and ultrasound facilities with considerable investment in equipment.

Applications are invited from hardworking, motivated individuals who have a genuine passion for patient care and experience.

We have a small friendly radiography team and the ability to work independently and be self-directed in the role is key. There is a commitment to on-call duties as part of this role. Any relevant training for additional duties will be provided.

Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years postgraduate experience.

Main duties of the job

Performing adult and neonatal x-ray examinations, DEXA scanning (training provided) and fluoroscopy imaging.

Participate in on call for the delivery of 24/7 x-ray services.

Work efficiently, organising and prioritising work, and liaising with clinics and wards to optimise service.

To participate in multi-disciplinary team working. The multi-million pound investment has seen us move from cassette-based CR systems to predominantly full DR and this development will continue over the coming years.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

The Radiographer will be involved in the delivery of Radiography services to all patients attending the imaging department, satellite units and wards, with some weekend working and on-call cover for the Neo-Natal unit as required.

They will be able to organise workload efficiently and liaise with referrers and other staff to optimise service delivery.

The Radiographer may be expected to undertake training in and reporting of DEXA scanning . Participation in equipment testing and analysis for Quality Assurance is required.

A minimum of 2 years post qualification and registration is desirable.
