Summary


The NHS Workforce Alliance is the largest collaborative procurement partnership in the UK, influencing over £1.5bn of NHS expenditure on contingent labour each year. It comprises five organisations: Crown Commercial Service, the NHS East of England Collaborative Procurement Hub, the NHS North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative, NHS Commercial Solutions, and the NHS London Procurement Partnership.

This brand new role for a Business Intelligence Manager will be based at NHS London Procurement Partnership, an organisation hosted by Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust who are among the UK’s busiest and most successful NHS foundation trust. It provides a full range of hospital and community services for people in south London as well as specialist care for patients from further afield.

The Business Intelligence Manager role will be hosted at NHS London Procurement Partnership and will report to the Operations Director of the NHS Workforce Alliance. The role is accountable to the Executive Board of the Alliance, which comprises senior leaders from all five partner organisations.

The postholder will play a critical role in the development and delivery of our business intelligence and data analytics function to internal stakeholders, NHS trusts and central management functions across the NHS at both national and regional level. this is a leadership role which requires the postholder to lead collaborative groups and take responsibility for outcomes.

The post holder will lead on the development and execution of a data analytics and business intelligence strategy for the NHS Workforce Alliance. Specific outputs includes but are not limited to:

i) Internal reporting of Management Information;

ii) Data packs provided for each region, ICB and NHS trust showing detailed trends in the use and cost of contingent labour;

iii) Reporting to NHS England in support of both the Alliance as an approved framework host and in the NHS England commercial strategy for workforce.

The successful candidate will take on a new role which is critical to our continued success

The postholder is responsible for the strategic direction of the NHS Workforce Alliance in business intelligence and data analytics by producing robust commercial information and reports and enabling user access.

To work in partnership with the relevant workstream leads, senior category managers, and our communications and business management functions through the collation and analysis of complex data sets.

Responsible for the provision of outputs to directors and other senior managers to track performance management and benefits realisation.

A pivotal role in the development and implementation of Alliance’s systems strategy, with particular emphasis on management reporting and business growth. Through the provision and interpretation of data, support trust based staff to improve business processes, and aid product standardisation and enhance service development option appraisals.

Responsible business intelligence and reporting platforms to provide automated tools to category management teams and external customers. Provide technical support, advice and training in analysis techniques, data collection methods and the presentation of data.
