Description
Our organization is seeking an Independent Reviewing & Child Protection Officer (Grade 9) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for independently reviewing and monitoring child protection cases to ensure the welfare and safety of children. You will work closely with social workers, legal professionals, and other stakeholders to gather information, assess risks, and make recommendations to improve the care and support provided to vulnerable children.

As an Independent Reviewing & Child Protection Officer, you will play a vital role in safeguarding children and ensuring that they receive the support and protection they need. You will be responsible for conducting thorough and impartial reviews of child protection plans, identifying any gaps or weaknesses, and making recommendations for improvement. Additionally, you will ensure that all relevant policies and procedures are followed and provide guidance and training to staff involved in child protection cases.

This position requires a high level of professionalism, empathy, and an in-depth understanding of child protection laws and regulations. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and analytical skills, as well as the ability to work independently and make sound decisions in complex and challenging situations.

Responsibilities
Independently review and monitor child protection cases to ensure compliance with policies and procedures
Gather information from relevant stakeholders, including social workers, legal professionals, and family members, to assess risks and make well-informed recommendations
Conduct thorough and impartial reviews of child protection plans, identifying any gaps or weaknesses and making recommendations for improvement
Provide guidance and support to social workers and other staff involved in child protection cases
Ensure that all relevant policies, procedures, and legislation are adhered to throughout the review process
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all reviews and actions taken
Attend case conferences and meetings to provide expert advice and guidance on child protection matters
Requirements
A degree in social work or a related field
Proven experience in a similar role, with a strong focus on child protection
In-depth knowledge of child protection laws, policies, and procedures
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work independently and make sound decisions
Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
