Community Outreach Support Worker




Location: Littlehampton and surrounding areas (Bognor Regis, Worthing and Chichester)

Hours of Work: Full-Time and Part-Time roles available (up to 37 hours per week, including weekends) (Sleep-In shifts included at
£62 per night)

Salary: £9.00 - £10.00 (per hour)

Our Community Outreach services in West Sussex work across Littlehampton and surrounding areas to provide person-centred support
to people within their own homes. Along with general caring commitments, day to day activities for our support worker and those we
support can include anything from learning independent living skills to fun days out doing horse riding, pottery, swimming and
attending local groups.




As part of our Outreach Service we also offer 24/7 support to two people living in their own home. This means that several shifts
are available across each day/ week.







Our shifts can include:




* Weekdays various from 9am-6pm across a range of Service Users.
* Evenings from 4pm till 9pm
* Sleep in shifts 9pm-8/9am
* Weekends: 9-1pm, 1-5pm 5-9pm and sleep in shifts (to include 7-9am next morning)
* As well as some shorter sessions with Service Users.




Full driving licence and access to own vehicle is essential for the majority of our Community Outreach Service, however we have
many shifts available which do not require a driver.









About You:




As a support worker at Aspens you will have an enthusiasm and a positive attitude towards supporting people with learning
disabilities/ physical disabilities/mental health issues and autism to lead independent and fulfilling lives.




You do not need to have had previous experience with Autism or learning disabilities, but we do ask that you are a compassionate,
caring and friendly person who is willing to learn and take advantage of the full training, support and career opportunities we
offer.




You will have good communication skills, including listening skills and the ability to communicate effectively with the people we
support using a variety of different methods as required.




You will be willing to support individuals in whatever activities they choose to do, be it within the community or within the
home, making it an enriching and fun activity, supporting individuals to make their own choices, learn new skills to be as
independent as possible and to achieve their ambitions as set out in their care plan.




You will be willing to perform domestic duties and support individuals to take part in such tasks, such as preparing ingredients
and cooking healthy meals.




You will provide personal care when required in a sensitive manner, and provide emotional and behavioural support when needed.




It is desirable that you are a as flexible as possible as we are looking for team members who can cover a mixture or early and
late shifts (including at weekends) as well as sleep in shifts.
