About the Role:




At Aspens We work across Kent and Sussex; supporting individuals with autism spectrum conditions, learning disabilities and
physical disabilities across residential care homes, supported living homes, day services and our fantastic outreach programme.




West Sussex Children and Young People’s Service offer children and young people with a range of disabilities, those on the autism
spectrum, and those with complex needs aged 8-25 in West Sussex. These young people may be in or out of education, facing social
isolation or unable to access group-based activities. We help to support these you people to feel empowered and to develop the
skills required to become independent and confident, through a range of activities at outreach centres, in the community and in
their own homes.




We are currently looking for a fun-loving, dedicated and passionate individual to join their team as a Children’s and Young
People’s Group Lead.




Within the role of group lead you will be expected to deliver stimulating and engaging short breaks services for children with
Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and complex needs through groups, events, outings and activities.







As a Group Lead, the day-to-day tasks that you will be required to complete will vary, but include:




* Co-ordinating and supporting the development and delivery of after-school and weekend groups
* Supporting the management of a team of support workers involved in the delivery of these sessions- including helping with
recruitment, training, staff supervisions and the creation of staff rotas.
* Submitting weekly/monthly reports including attendance, financial information, all behaviour management observations and
safeguarding issues. And completing observation sheets for those we support.

About You:




As an ideal candidate for this role it is required that you hold a level 3 qualification in child care or youth work (or something
equivalent) along with having completed some training in safeguarding and paediatric first aid. Other training is also desirable,
but not essential as you will be supported to complete a variety of training relevant to your role.




You should have previous experience having worked with vulnerable children and young people (particularly those with autism)
should be used to delivering sessions to young people. You must be good team player and have strengths in both team work and team
leadership.

dedicated and well organised!
