Summary

Grade 7: £37,099 - £44,263 p.a. depending on experience
This role will be based on University campus with scope for it to be undertaken in a hybrid manner. We are also open to discussing flexible working arrangements.

Are you an ambitious researcher looking for your next challenge? Are you skilled in the planning and organising of events and working with a multi-disciplinary team? Are you familiar with issues of race and gender equality in education and principles of widening participation?

We are looking to recruit an experienced Senior Research Fellow to work with Professor Iyiola Solanke on “Generation Delta: Nurturing the next generation of Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (B.A.M.E) female professors”, a project funded by the Office for Students (OfS)/ Research England (RE) till January 2026 to look into the access and success of women from Black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) backgrounds in post-graduate research programmes.

You will have an interest in work with learners from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (B.A.M.E) communities. You will play a key role in this project, working closely with the Principal Investigator and project team to lead and deliver activities over the four year period. You will collect and analyse data from workshops and other activities as well as help with monitoring and evaluation of the project outcomes. You will plan and conduct focus groups, collate data and draft project reports in contribution to project dissemination. You will be supported to develop research skills and multi-disciplinary expertise through training and support available through the School and University.

The post will involve online working and may require some travel.

What we offer in return:

26 days holiday plus approx.16 Bank Holidays/days that the University is closed by custom (including Christmas) – That’s 42 days a year!
Generous pension scheme plus life assurance.
Health and Wellbeing: Discounted staff membership options at The Edge, our state-of-the-art Campus gym, with a pool, sauna, climbing wall, cycle circuit, and sports halls.
Personal Development: Access to courses run by our Organisational Development & Professional Learning team.
