Summary

Job Description

Glasgow City Council is introducing a new recycling service to kerbside properties in the city. All residents on the kerbside service will receive a new dark grey recycling bin. Reporting to the Supervisor, you will assist in the day to day control of the daily logistics of the bin distribution for the new project throughout the city. You will be based as Nitshill Depot, 121 Woodhead Road, G53 7NN. You must be able to motivate a team of distribution staff and, ideally, have previous supervisory experience of frontline operational staff and competent IT skills (Microsoft Excel). A current First Aid certification and/or compulsory gaining of First Aid training, health and safety training and certification, and a current driving licence are essential. An SVQ level 3 or equivalent qualification in an area appropriate to the post, Health and Safety, Frontline Management and Risk Assessment training are desirable but not essential.

This post is fixed term for a period up to 18 months.

Working hours will be 37 hours Monday – Friday (8.00am – 4.30pm Monday to Thursday and 8.00am – 4.00pm Friday)
