Grounds Maintenance Team Leader (Countryside and Open spaces)
Grade 4, £24,294 up to £27,334 per annum pro rata
37 hours per week, permanent contract

We are committed to providing cleaner, greener neighbourhoods with safe and exciting green spaces that are both valued and used by all aspects of the community. To help achieve this we wish to recruit an experienced Grounds Maintenance Operative with leadership experience within a team to manage and maintain a highly motivated and valued grounds maintenance team.

Working as part of a mobile team you will lead a small team and carry out all aspects of grounds maintenance and other conservation and horticultural tasks at a number of sites throughout the borough, working in an outdoor environment all year round.

Duties include:


Leading a small team of grounds maintenance operatives
Countryside conservation activities
Application of pesticides
General grounds maintenance duties such as, digging, grass cutting, hedge cutting, tree planting, bulb and wildflower plug planting, wildflower meadow preparation and maintenance etc.
Use of horticultural machinery and grass cutting machinery
Hard and soft landscaping work; desirable criteria includes experience of fencing, paving and the application of pesticides
Assist with external cleaning duties – such as litter picking, sweeping, emptying of litter bins etc.
