Band 7 Practice Development Nurse or Paramedic

A unique opportunity has arisen to work with our Unplanned Care Team based in Hertfordshire Division – Hemel One. Working in conjunction with the CLCH Academy we are committed to developing and growing our workforce to deliver the highest possible standards of care in the unplanned care team.

We are looking for an experienced nurse or paramedic who is enthusiastic about teaching and supporting staff to grow their career within this setting. The role is crucial in enabling staff to deliver high quality care and there is a clear focus on working alongside staff in the clinical areas.

We are looking to recruit a Practice Development Nurse or Paramedic to work closely with the Clinical Lead, Nurse Consultant and Advanced Clinical Practitioners in the Unplanned Care team, based in the Hertfordshire Division.



The post holder will be based at:
• Hemel One, Boundary Way, Hemel Hempstead, HP2 7YU

You will be part of our dynamic leadership team, working closely with the both the service operational lead and the CLCH Academy to coordinate and embed learning and development ensuring that staff are competent and capable to undertake their roles. Excellent clinical, leadership, teaching and communication skills are essential along with the ability to work in an innovative way to support and develop the workforce.
Using your clinical expertise, you will drive the service to provide high standards of care and be an ambassador for practice development.
As a practice development nurse or paramedic you will be expected to:
• To act as a role model and demonstrate expertise in delivering evidence-based practice
• Facilitate the creation of a positive learning environment in the workplace where staff development at all levels is encouraged and supported
• Facilitate the education and continuing professional development for all levels of registered and non-registered nursing and paramedic staff within the unplanned care team
• Work alongside staff in individual teams undertaking a key role in practice development
• Translate Academy priorities such as changes in nursing standards, new clinical roles such as Apprenticeships into their designated service

• To work in accordance with the NMC/HCPC Code of Professional Conduct, and Trust Policies and Procedures
• To ensure that own clinical practice demonstrates current clinical knowledge
• To work clinically within nominated teams on a regular basis, supporting teams and individual nurses & paramedics in developing their practice
• To enable staff to identify opportunities to develop clinical practice, and support them to make changes in clinical practice
• To support the clinical practice of non medical prescribers
• To enable access to resources and evidence to support the development of clinical practice within nursing
