Summary

An excellent opportunity for an Experienced Quality Engineer / Manager to join a well-established company based in Rickmansworth, Herts.

Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent.
Location: Rickmansworth WD3.
Salary: Salary up to £47k - negotiable (dependant on experience).
Working Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:30am‐ 4:00pm, Friday 7:30am to 2:30pm

First established as a Limited company in 1977, specializing in precision Grinding – and quickly became a leading specialist in the field. They offer ‘The Complete Package’ by manufacture of parts and sub-assemblies complete to a wide range of customers in sectors including Aerospace, Defence, Oil & Gas, Motorsport (including Formula 1), Food/Scientific and Medical to name a few.

Due to a growing orderbook, they are seeking a proactive and energetic “hands on” Quality Engineer / Manager to join their busy and expanding team whilst they continue to move through an exciting stage in the development of the business.

Duties will include:

• Leading the Inspection Department; ensuring it is running efficiently and effectively to meet production requirements & customer delivery dates - including carrying out Inspection activities as required.
• Maintaining the company’s Quality Management System in accordance with ISO9001:2015 requirements.
• Conducting root cause & corrective/preventative actions; implementing robust solutions using a range of tools including 8D / 5 whys etc.
• Co-ordinating the creation of First Article Inspection Reports with the Inspection team when required.
• Assisting with producing Quality & Delivery KPI reports.
• Conducting internal audits & assisting with external audits.

Candidate Requirements:

• Knowledgeable, experienced, and proactive Senior Inspector / Quality Engineer / Manager - ideally from a Subcontract Machining background.
• Leadership ability: able to use initiative and organise themselves & the rest of their team with the ability to motivate others, achieving the desired results.
• Excellent communication and influencing skills.
• Proven ability to establish root cause & corrective/preventative actions & implement robust solutions using a range of tools including 8D / 5 whys / Control plans etc.
• Strong problem-solving skills coupled with an excellent technical understanding.
• Good knowledge of CNC/Manual machining methods.
• Experienced in using a range of inspection measurement tools (including CMM’s) and methodologies.
• ISO9001:2015 internal auditing experience.
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Office
