An exciting opportunity has arisen at Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust. We are looking to recruit to Contract and Performance Lead, this is a new post following the implementation of a two year pilot for a Theatres managed consumable service across the Trusts 38 theatres. This post supports and is embedded within the Division of Surgery and Cancer Care (SCC) with Trust wide responsibility for managed service contracts.

The Contract and Performance Lead role will lead on the management of the managed service pilot ensuring effective delivery of the pilot and maximising operational and commercial benefits. The post holder will also play a key role in the development the business case and the formal tender of the managed service solution to substantiate the current pilot.

As required the post holder will provide contracting and procurement expertise in support of change and transformation programmes across the trust. The role will provide specialist knowledge on a wide range of complex issues, and lead on developing contractual arrangements ensuring proactive implementation of best practice across the Trust.

This role reports directly to the Divisional Director of Surgery and Cancer with professional support aligned to the Head of Procurement role and deputises for them as required.

The right candidate will have in depth NHS contracting expertise, excellent interpersonal and analytical skills, an ability to deliver to deadlines, and be flexible, innovative and solution focused.

• To support the negotiation of the Trust’s Managed Service Contractsand be responsible, on behalf of the Surgery and Cancer Division – Service Development & Commissioner Relations, for negotiating, managing and monitoring a portfolio of Contractswith NHSE, Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) and other commissioning bodies, fostering a customer-focused relationship with commissioners andensuringthat NHS Contractsare negotiated with thebest possible terms to the Trust.
• This role involves working with NHSE/ICBs to establish and maintain close collaborative working arrangements in addition to working closely with Clinical Divisions (CDs) to ensure their involvement in promoting service developments and in defining Contractual quality and performance standards. The role will play a key role in Quality Metrics.
• To provide technical expertise, guidance, quality assurance and support to Surgery and Cancer Division for allservice development and commissioner-related activities. The post holder will act as a keylink between the Service Development team and CDs, engaging clinicians and managers in the financial impact of the National Tariff and the importance of accurate and timely information capture.
