JOB DESCRIPTION

Personal Assistant

A LITTLE ABOUT MYSELF

I am a 42 year old lady living in the Barry area. I would like a Personal assistant to help and support me in my home and when I am out in the community. I have been diagnosed with a neurological function disorder which causes a weakness in my right side, making me unsteady at times. I am quite creative person and enjoy making things. I would like to go out in the community more to help better my mood. I attend two courses, which helps me keep a routine in my life, I would require support with one of my courses due to the subject matter.

I would also like someone to help me cook a hello fresh meal, so I can build up confidence in learning new skills and ready myself for living on my own.

PURPOSE OF JOB

To support and assist me in my home and the community, to encourage me to learn new skills and to help develop my independence.

PLACE OF WORK

In the home and in the community.

HOURS OF WORK

7 hours a week.

RATE OF PAY

12.00 Per hour.

TASKS INVOLVED

· Support and supervision with personal care.

· To teach me to learn basic skills needed to prepare meals.

· To assist me with my shopping needs and hopefully teach me some calming techniques, to reduce my stress level.

· To help me become independent with domestic tasks and everyday living.

· I require support with all medication as currently my mother takes full control of this.

· To speak on my behalf to PIP and ESA as this can cause me to get worked up.

TYPE OF PERSON REQUIRED

· Someone who is patient and caring.

· A person who respects the privacy and confidentiality of working in someone else’s home and at course.

· Someone who is adaptable to my moods as they tend to change.

· A positive outgoing person who will encourage my independence.

· Someone to help me find a new flat to move.

ABOUT THE JOB

Though a part-time job, this will be a proper job requiring a National Insurance number to be submitted. A trial period will be necessary in the first instance. The wage will be paid monthly basis and appropriate holiday pay given. The post is subject to satisfactory references and a DBS (Police) Check - which will need to be carried out before employment can commence. The cost of this will be met by the employer (Local Authority).The relevant checks will be carried out to ensure any applicant has the right to work in the UK
