A2Dominion is a residential property group with a social purpose to improve people’s lives. While we take a commercial approach to housebuilding, we reinvest all our profits into building more new homes and supporting the communities in which we work.

We’re a strong player in our field and we’re part of the G15, a group of the largest housing providers in London. We’re proud of our commitment to our customers.

Whatever the role, we want you to bring your knowledge and experience to play your part in improving people’s lives.

About A2Dominion

In the role of a Young Peoples Support Officer, you will be an integral part of a dedicated team committed to providing housing and assistance to individuals between the ages of 16 and 24 who are either young parents or young people.

Your primary responsibility will involve serving as a keyworker, empowering our residents to foster independence, autonomy, and the freedom to make choices as they work towards self-sufficiency. This will also encompass the vital task of ensuring the safety and effective management of risks, often in collaboration with partner agencies. Additionally, you will be accountable for conducting health and safety inspections within the facility, as well as promptly reporting and monitoring any maintenance issues.

Responsibilities will include:

· Assess referrals and engage with prospective clients using a person-centred approach. Key to this role will be liaising with health professionals, other agencies, and colleagues as appropriate.

· Ensure that prospective and current clients are fully aware of the support available, their financial obligations, rights and responsibilities under their tenancy/occupation arrangements and all related procedures.

· Agree and review client Independent Living Plans and Risk Assessments on a regular basis, deliver contracted hours of support to achieve the required outcomes.

· Flexibly deliver the support identified in an Independent Living Plan through regular person-centred contact as appropriate, taking follow up action and coordinating wraparound support if required from other agencies (for example Adult Social Care, Criminal Justice, Health services) and internal departments.

· Forge and maintain links with partner agencies and other key stakeholders as appropriate to ensure that good communication and co-operation is maintained.

· Report any concerns relating to safeguarding of vulnerable people using the correct procedures, attending case conferences and other meetings as required

Who are we looking for?

We realise you might not have experience in this sector so we are specifically looking for candidates with the right transferal skills and attitudes, who will demonstrate and promote our values of caring by nature, working better together and thinking for tomorrow.

For example, you may:

· Have experience of working in a customer-facing role, and a passion for customer service.

· Have the understanding to motivate people who have complex and diverse issues including alcohol or substance misuse, mental health trauma and/or behavioural challenges.

· Have an awareness of Universal Credit and Housing Benefit, as well as voluntary and statutory support agencies.

· Have the skills to identify and manage risk.

· Have an awareness of safeguarding measures and processes.

· Have excellent communication skills.

· Have exceptional administration and IT skills – especially Windows, Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word and Excel).
