Job summary Are you passionate about Anatomy and Pathology? Would you like to be part of a highly motivated and skilled team who delivers a range of undergraduate education and postgraduate training programmes. The post forms part of the team supporting all activities within the Human Anatomy Unit, specifically the Pathology Museum. The post holder will be responsible for the day-to-day running of the Pathology Museum as well as responsible for the conservation and management of all wet and dry potted specimens. The post holder will also assist with all organisational and technical duties to deliver the Core Surgical Anatomy, Surgical Skills, and Undergraduate Programmes. We are looking for a candidate who has a keen interest in Anatomy & Pathology and has working experience of working within a museum and teaching environment, ideally with conservation experience as well as experience in inventory management processes. Duties and responsibilities Act as a Persons Designated under the Human Tissue Act 2004. Responsible for enforcing HTA legislation and ensuring all activities are carried out in accordance with these regulations - ensuring a safe and compliant working environment. Responsible for the conservation of HAU potted specimens. Responsible for the management of all potted specimens, including acquisition, inventory and disposal. Responsible for management of museum databases, produce, maintain HTA and H&S records and ensure data is accurate, up to date and complete. Responsible for the day to day administration of the Pathology Museum. Responsible for ensuring delivery 'setting up and down' of teaching material as required by the UG curriculum as well as external courses run in the Pathology Museum as well as assisting with all UG technical and teaching activities in the HAU. Assist with the organisation and set up, delivery and set down of the Core Anatomy and Skills Programmes and related administration duties. Responsible for maintaining a clean and tidy working environment in the Pathology Museum as well as assisting with duties all HAU areas, ensuring work areas are ready for use when required. Essential requirements Experience of working within a museum environment Experience of working in a teaching and laboratory environment Experience of conservation duties of wet specimens Knowledge and understanding of human anatomy and pathology Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, operating policies and standards relating to anatomical examination Knowledge of Health and Safety Regulations and Legislation Comprehensive knowledge and experience of databases and Windows based software (Word, Excel and Access) Ability to carry out conservation duties on museum pots Further information This is a full time (35h/pw) and open ended contract based the Charing Cross Campus at Imperial College London. Have a flexible approach to working hours is required. Hours will be scheduled via a ROTA between 08:00 & 18:00hrs. Flexible working is required. A reasonable level of fitness will be required because the post requires lifting with hoists and the manual handling of cadavers. The interviews will be held in person, onsite.
