Summary

Role overview

As a Family Support Worker stationed at HMP Channings Wood, your primary responsibility entails assisting families during their
visits to loved ones at the visitor centre. The visitor centre offers various services, including play and children’s services,
along with catering.




Your role within the PACT Family team involves being stationed primarily at the prison's visitor centre and visits hall. Here, you
will provide support, guidance, and advice to families visiting inmates. Additionally, you'll facilitate prison visits and family
days, as well as provide assistance with the play service.




Qualifications for this position include prior experience and comprehension of working with families in challenging environments,
preferably involving offenders and their families. Strong organizational abilities are crucial, as is the capacity to handle a
demanding workload effectively. You should also be capable of contributing to the planning and development of Pact’s family
initiatives and possess knowledge of safeguarding and child protection practices. Excellent interpersonal communication skills are
essential, as is the ability to foster partnerships with various agencies.




About You:




To be successful in this role you will have experience and understanding of working with families in a challenging environment,
ideally involving offenders and/or their families. You will also have excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a
demanding work load. You will have the ability to contribute to planning and development of Pact’s family work and also have
knowledge of safeguarding/child protection practice. Furthermore you will have excellent interpersonal communication skills and
ability to work in build partnerships with a range of agencies.
