The Dean Trust is seeking to appoint a talented and hard-working Teacher of Business Studies to join our dedicated team at Ashton on Mersey School. The core purpose of the role will responsible to the Head of Business Studies, teaching Business Studies at KS4 and KS5.
The Teacher of Business will be responsible for planning and delivering a dynamic and engaging curriculum alongside other principal responsibilities across the faculty. They will also make significant contributions to teaching, learning and progress. The post holder will have responsibility for the outcomes of pupils.

We are looking for an individual who possess:
Plan their teaching to achieve progression in pupils’ learning
Be fully responsible for setting high expectations for pupils’ behaviour, establishing and maintaining a good standard of discipline through well focused teaching and through the development of positive and productive relationships
Show creativity within teaching and planning by having a variety of teaching methods and pedagogical approaches which sustain the momentum of pupils’ work and keep all pupils engaged
Ensure effective use of assessment information to inform planning and maximise learner progress
Be committed to mark and monitor pupils’ classwork and homework (keeping accurate records), providing constructive oral and written feedback and setting appropriate targets to maximise pupils’ progress
Reflect, develop, evaluate and update schemes of work across all Key Stages
Be familiar with the statutory assessment and reporting requirements and know how to prepare and present information reports to parents
Be familiar with the Code of Practice on the identification and assessment of Special Educational Needs and as part of their responsibilities implement and keep records of Individual Education Plans for pupils when required
Evaluate their own teaching critically and to use this to improve their effectiveness
Attend and contribute fully to meetings and progress evenings as required
Contribute to activities identified in the Faculty Improvement Plan by keeping up to date with current research and practice in Business.
