Summary


We are looking to recruit a B6 Specialist Physiotherapist for our Neurological Rehabilitation Unit at Trafford General Hospital. The post will require the successful applicant to work as part of the multidisciplinary team on the Intermediate Neurorehabilitation Unit to deliver neurological rehabilitation, support with discharges and complex case management.

The post holder should have proven practical skills in neurological physiotherapy, with competent respiratory skills. You should have excellent communication skills, evidence of acute neurological management and rehabilitation skills, multidisciplinary working and experience of complex discharge planning within the NHS.

You will have skills in therapeutic handling, normal movement, upper limb rehabilitation, spasticity management, specialist seating and positioning.

Alongside the clinical work the successful applicant will work contribute to the supervision and appraisal of junior staff with support from the senior therapy team. You will have proven clinical skills and a strong commitment to Multi-Disciplinary Team working. You will be able to deliver specialist training and education to junior staff and students as well as multi-disciplinary colleagues.

The therapy neurorehabilitation team is ward based and made up of OT's, Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Neuropsychologists and Rehabilitation Assistants who work closely with nursing and medical colleagues to deliver excellent neurological rehabilitation.

You will be expected to contribute to the Physiotherapy on-call service and weekend working.
