MFT’s Digital Team

Joiningthe digital serviceputs you at the heart of the Trust’s digital enablement journey. The implementation of the Hive Electronic Patients Record (EPR), powered by EPIC, in September 2022, which was the biggest of its kind in the UK at that time, was the first step in realising the MFT vision of a ‘Digital First’ organisation and significantly increases the Trust’s capability to unleash the power of data, through its ability to capture high quality/volume acute clinical and non-clinical services data and to exploit this data to catalyse digital transformation and support improved patient care.

In parallel we have an ambitious digital strategy, which builds on Hive EPR as an engine for transformation for MFT, to deliver scalable, robust, and reliable digital infrastructure, applications, and services, to support other major programmes. This includes the delivery of the Single Hospital Service which was achieved when North Manchester General Hospital (NMGH) formally joined MFT in April 2021. As well as supportingnational projects, including the New Hospitals Programme, with the redevelopment of the NMGH which is defining the digital approach to a new generation of hospitals. Further, we are developing our governance approach to ensure the Trust makes best safe use of advances such as Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Robotic Process Automation across all our services. This is an incredibly exciting time to join our digital team as we continue to addressfurther expansion in the complexity and volume of technological demand.

The digital team has a pivotal role in supporting MFT to deliver clinically led, operationally delivered, digitally-enabled services. Our staff work across key functions including: strategy, governance and assurance, portfolio services including demand and delivery, information and patient services, and teams supporting our Hive EPR and all connected applications and other digital systems, technology architecture, infrastructure, and operational services. We arealso supported by a diverse clinical informatics team, ensuring our digital solutions are safe, efficient and patient focused. The clinical informatics team is made up consultants across the organisation and a dedicated Digital Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professional Team, who work closely with the Chief Medical Informatics Officers.

As a member of the digital team you will directly support the organisation to deliver andimprove clinical quality, patient and staff experience, operational effectiveness, and research. We’re proud of the positive impact we make every day to the lives of our colleagues and our patients and we’re excited to offer you theopportunity to join our team.
