This is an exciting opportunity for an experience therapist who wishes to expand and develop skills in leading a Team. Are you self-motivated, friendly and enthusiastic? Come and join our Children’s Therapy Team in North Lincolnshire.

As part of this role you will co-lead a team of Speech and Language Therapists and non-registered staff. This includes managing performance, service development, audit and ensuring the smooth day to day running of the service. You will work alongside other Band 7 Leads across our Children’s Therapy team to support the development of the service as a whole. This post gives a great opportunity for you to develop and shape the service.

Your job clinically will be to provide expert clinical advice/ second opinions, intervention and management for a specialist complex caseload. You will also be responsible for dysphagia management of a caseload (full training and competencies support provided). There is scope for you to identify possible areas of Clinical Specialism which you might be interested in.You should have extensive experience working in paediatrics with complex communication difficulties. Experience in Team leader responsibilities would be desirable; full supervision will be provided. We are able to offer this post as a development opportunity if applicants do not have the essential criteria, in which case we would expect that competencies would be developed within 12 months.

To take the lead in day to day management and leadership of a small Speech and Language Therapy Team consisting of registered and non registered roles. To be responsible for the planning, development, maintenance and evaluation of the Children’s Therapy Service, contributing to the strategic planning and informing the Operational lead for Children’s Therapies of any developments and needs.



To take provide expert clinical specialist management in children’s therapy, including the advanced management of children with diverse presentations and a wide variety of complex communication needs.



To be responsible for managing their own caseload and the supervision, education and assessment of students, assistants and junior therapists in their area. They will provide specialised advice to other professionals in this specific clinical area.



To undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and teams clinical practice.
