Summary


City & Hackney Centre for Mental Health is a mental health hospital based at Homerton Hospital that provides assessment and treatment for male
and female individuals experiencing acute mental health difficulties.

Our vision is to provide optimum care and treatment to aid recovery and
promote wellbeing prior to returning back within the community environment.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic RMN to join the City & Hackney Mental Health Team .

We are looking for a band 5 who is ready for the next step, or an existing band 6 who is looking for a new challenge.

The Health Based Place of Safety service (HBPoS) in City and Hackney, is the centralised service for all persons over the age of 18 placed under S135 and S136 of the MHA, in the boroughs of City and Hackney and Tower Hamlets. It operates from a specially designed unit situated at the City & Hackney Centre for Mental Health on a 24/7 basis and staffed by a dedicated multidisciplinary team.

Its purpose is to provide guidance on issues pertaining to the Trust’s provision for the care of persons detained under Section 136 of the Mental Health Act 1983 who are found in a public place in need of care and containment.

To co-ordinate and provide care and treatment to an identified group of patients without direct supervision. In addition, supporting junior staff in delivery of care provision.

To manage and organise work as required.

Take responsibility for the development and delivery of evidence based practice for service users with complex needs, ensuring that it supports and reflects service user individual needs, Trust objectives and professional guidance.

Contribute to the development of high quality evidence based in-patient services in a changing health care environment.

Contribute towards ensuring that the ward functions as an integral part of the Directorate’s services.

Effective communication with all relevant personnel both internal and external to the Trust.

To practice within professional guidelines and promote professional practice in clinical area.

To ensure continuous personal development through the utilisation of regular supervision, annual appraisal and training where appropriate.

To provide clinical leadership and supervision to the staff group in order to promote and develop excellence in practice.
