Summary

As Maintenance Engineer at Sodexo in Reading, we will rely on your expertise and technical knowledge to undertake any necessary maintenance. What you'll do:

Carry out reactive, proactive, and preventative maintenance, including monthly emergency light testing and repairs.

Utilise electrical, mechanical, and fabric proficiency with a flexible "can do" approach.

Manage external contractors, ensuring adherence to site standards and procedures.

Be an essential part of the local team, ensuring the safe operation and repair of all building services and fabric equipment.

Participate in a Rota for reactive maintenance outside operating hours.

Undertake occasional weekend/out-of-hours working for intrusive maintenance activities.

Work in line with the Permit to Work System SOP.

Implement systems for optimal plant maintenance and operation.

Participate in energy-saving schemes and promote economic energy use.

Contribute to departmental appraisals/performance reviews.

Monitor site performance of sub-contractors and report poor performance.

Utilize IT systems (Handheld device) as part of the CAFM system Maximo.

Work in line with issued Risk Assessments and Safe Systems of Work.

What you'll bring:

• 5 years’ experience in mechanical building services and plant engineering.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Numerate and computer literate.

• Regulated working background.

• Technical qualification in a recognized trade.

• Willingness to undertake necessary training for multi-skills.

• Positive, up-beat communicative attitude with good attention to detail.

• Ability to work within Safe Systems of Work. – duplicate of above

• Proactive approach to work, ensuring minimum disruption of services.
