Are you looking for a new opportunity? Do you have an interest in working with people with learning disabilities? Do you value strong multidisciplinary working?

This is an exciting opportunity to join our multidisciplinary, multiagency intensive support teams. The Southwark Intensive Support Team is seeking to recruit an occupational therapist to join the existing service, whilst the Lambeth Intensive Support Team is a brand new team that is being set up.

We are looking for two experienced occupational therapists who can coordinate and work with multiple agencies to deliver specialist assessment and intervention to contribute to the development of occupation-based strategies within a framework of positive behaviour support (PBS). Successful candidates will be expected to work with the multidisciplinary team, bringing occupational therapy expertise to contribute to the development of individualised capable environments.

The post holder will be a key member of the borough based Intensive Support Team (IST) alongside colleagues from South London and Maudsley NHS Trust Mental Health and Learning Disabilities Team (MHLD) and the Local Authority.

The post holder will be working to establish the occupational therapy role within the IST: leading on occupation based assessment and intervention, establishing local occupational therapy pathways and practices, educating the team about the role and scope of occupational therapy within the IST, andcontributing to clinical outcomes through multidisciplinary inputs.

In addition to direct client work, there will be a focus on gathering data, reviewing inputs and outcomes to review and report on the impact both of the occupational therapy offer and to contribute to reporting on the impact of the IST as a whole service.

In exchange for your professional skills, passion, commitment to the highest standards of client-centred care, we can offer you:

· A supportive working environment where clients come first.

· A strong team ethos of personal and professional development where we value sharing our knowledge & skills within the team.

· Opportunities to access both internal and external training in line with personal development plan

· Direct supervision, peer supervision, and regular appraisal.

The posts offer excellent opportunities to work jointly with other occupational therapists who specialise in Adults with Learning Disabilities as well as other members of a multi-disciplinary health team and other multi- agency colleagues.

The recruitment process is combined for both vacancies, so applicants only need to submit one application to be considered for both posts. If you have a preference as to which team you would like to work with please note that within your application form.
