Summary

Sussex Estates and Facilities (SEF) is looking to appoint a Security Supervisor to join the team. We are interested in pro-active and empathetic individual who can lead a team of Security Officers.

Do you have a strong background in supervising a security team and experience working in a diverse customer-focused environment to assist in the delivery of a 24/7 security service across the University buildings and Campuses.

Our team reflects the diversity on campus, and we are looking for a security supervisor to work on an expanding campus at a leading University.

The right candidate must a hold valid SIA DS and CCTV licence, a full UK driving licence is essential. A good understanding of CCTV and Fire Alarm harvesting systems and experience in working within a 24 hour Security Control room. Knowledge of local area and local emergency procedures.

To be aware of and ensure compliance with all aspects of policies and relevant legal and regulatory requirements as directed by the Security Operations Manager and in accordance with UK Law and Guidance bodies.

-To manage team of security officers during the shift as well as supervising portering staff out of hour's and be the main contact for out of hour's porters and cleaning teams and provide advice and to assist in case of emergencies.

-Task security officers with daily roles e.g. mobile patrol, foot patrol, control room duties and carry out audits to ensure this is done to the required standard.

-Responsible to ensure duty logs are completed and incident reports are raised as required and escalated to designated contacts.

-Assist in on-going training and ensure all new security officers are fully trained and inducted to site procedures and policies. Carry out toolbox talks and induction training for new starters.

-Develop teamwork within the workforce, ensuring high morale through effective motivational methods.

-Responsible for the review of Security Officers performance and development

-Provide customer / client liaison as and when required.

-Ensure Assignment Instructions are adhered to at all times.

-Ensure administration tasks are completed e.g. lost property, vehicle checks, group email.

-Manage the security officers and deal with day-to-day matters such as standards of dress, discipline, conduct and absence and record these accordingly.

-Ensure that any important messages are conveyed in the Security Handover and that all security personnel read and acknowledge them.

-Ensure security records and logs are being kept up to date.

-Ensure the security team are compliant with all relevant legislation on data protection/SIA

-Regularly liaise with and update the Security Operations Manager with security incidents, security breaches and other incidents

-Ensure contract security staff receive an induction in line with site procedures / policies and manage staff whilst they are on site.

-Carry out duties in line with Security Officer job description.

-Carry out any other reasonable tasks.
