The Opportunity:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced I.T and data manager to join a multi-disciplinary, cutting-edge imaging facility based in the Queens Medical Research Institute at Edinburgh Bioquarter. The post will be supporting a new Total Body PET-CT scanner as part of an MRC funded collaboration with Glasgow University. This exceptionally powerful and exciting technology can deliver innovative experimental medicine and clinical studies that will catalyse major discoveries in the understanding, diagnosis, quantification, and treatment of human disease.
This post is full-time (35 hours per week). We are also open to considering requests for hybrid working (on a non-contractual basis) that combines a mix of remote and regular on-campus working.
Your skills and attributes for success:
Proficient in Linux systems management and shell scripting
Experience with data management and computational tools that support research: MySQL, Postgres, R, MatLab, Docker, KVM, Python
Experience of management, governance, and transfer of data collections at Petabyte(s) scale
Excellent problem solving skills and able to provide specialist technical support and respond to critical issues.
