Summary

We are recruiting to the post of Clinical Fellow (FY2-ST1-2 Equivalent Grade) in Haemato-Oncology to commence 7th August 2024.

The post will run until and including 4th February 2025. It may be possible to extend the contract further, depending on circumstances.

This post is based in the recently re-built state-of-the-art facilities at the Barts Cancer Centre at St. Bartholomew’s Hospital in the City of London.

The centre is a major tertiary referral centre for all forms of malignant disease in adults, providing cancer services to a population of more than one and a half million people in East London and the City. We specialise in the delivery of inpatient and outpatient chemotherapy, immunotherapy and stem cell therapies including CAR-T cell therapy, and run a large clinical trials service.

The post would be particularly suitable for doctors who wish to gain a period of focussed experience and training and might be interested to pursue ST3 training in Haematology.

We take pride in the educational program we deliver for our junior doctors, and have an excellent track record in helping our clinical fellows reach their educational and training goals. The post holder will be allocated a Clinical Supervisor and be supported to advance their training record.

• Daily review of in-patients usually with the SpR and/or Consultant
• Ward duties including practical procedures and MDT meetings
• Support for the FY1s
• Review of new admissions
• Outpatient experience where daytime duties allow
• Experience of relevant sub-specialty procedures
• Review of patients attending the day unit

The post is part of a full shift rota with 14 doctors participating in the night cover for Haemato-Oncology and Solid Tumour Oncology patients (as part of the Hospital at Night Team).
