Summary


An exciting opportunity has arisen for an HCPC registered Speech and Language Therapist to lead the Children's SLT team at Provide, covering a permanent opportunity.

This role is an opportunity to manage and facilitate the Children's SLT team in their provision of speech and language therapy, intervention and support to children in the Mid Essex area.The post holder will be responsible for the leadership of the Children's SLT Service.

 To lead and facilitate the provision of speech and language therapy
intervention and support in the community setting.
 To lead in the development of services for families with children/ young people
who have speech and language therapy needs and monitor the quality of
service and referral/waiting times
 To manage and ensure the safety of the workforce including oversight and
delivery of the training and competency assessment of speech and language
therapy staff.
 To contribute to the development of the Children’s Speech and Language
Therapy Service by consolidating good practice and identifying, participating
in, and implementing research based practice.
 To lead and promote effective collaboration with multi agency partners.

Eligible for NHS Pension

 To lead the supervision and monitoring of speech and language therapy staff to ensure high quality safe and effective standards of care
 To lead the recruitment of new staff
 To manage the Children’s speech and language therapy Service budget
 To ensure staff are managing workloads effectively, within identified time
restraints
 To be responsible for the contemporaneous record of the team including
resolving input delays, errors in recording, accurate and timely record keeping
 To act as an ambassador and representative for the service and the
organisation, leading collaboration internally and externally
 To develop, maintain and promote effective communication within the multidisciplinary services and with children, young people and their families
 To be responsible for the local maintenance and management of facilities and the working environment
 To travel in order to meet the needs of the families and service
 To behave in a professional matter at all times
 Responds appropriately to queries and complaints, negotiates assertively and presents a positive self-image
 To comply with and develop protocols, procedures and guidelines for the
speech and language therapy service
