Summary

The Plant Fitter is entrusted with the responsibility of maintaining, diagnosing, servicing, and repairing construction equipment to the highest standards. This role plays a vital part in ensuring all plant machinery operates efficiently and effectively, meeting the demanding needs of the construction industry.

This position demands a wide range of experience in the maintenance and overhaul of both small and heavy plant equipment. The Plant Fitter will ensure the optimal functioning of plant machinery, contribute to the maintenance of health and safety standards, and support continuous improvement in plant services.

Key Responsibilities:

Carry out diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on machine plant to ensure equipment meets operational standards.
Build strong relationships across departments, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
React swiftly to equipment needs, providing first-time fixes to prevent operational delays.
Maintain a detailed inventory of spare parts and manage workshop areas to keep them safe and tidy.
Promote and maintain a professional image, adhering to company standards at all times.
Continuously develop skills through training and self-education to stay abreast of industry advancements.

Experience & Skills Required:

Relevant qualifications in plant maintenance and repair such as C&G, N.V.Q., B. TECH, or equivalent in a mechanical discipline.
Excellent technical and diagnostic skills, particularly with laptop computer diagnostics.
Strong communication skills, capable of working effectively within a team and independently.
Proven ability to manage time effectively and prioritise tasks.
