Summary
We are seeking a high-quality Principal Mechanical Design Engineer to join a team that values professional development and innovation. This role is ideal for someone eager to progress their career and take on new challenges within a dynamic engineering practice.
The Principal Mechanical Engineer will lead projects from conception to completion, ensuring all mechanical services are designed to meet client specifications and industry standards. This includes producing detailed mechanical drawings and specifications for both tender and construction phases.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the mechanical design of various building services projects.
Manage projects ensuring they comply with all technical and construction requirements.
Mentor and support junior staff, contributing to the development of the engineering team.
Attend design meetings, assess contractor valuations, and conduct site inspections.
Ensure project deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Experience & Skills Required:
Up to 10 years of experience within an M&E consulting environment.
HNC or degree qualified in a relevant engineering discipline. Chartered or working towards chartership.
Proficient in AutoCAD/Revit and IES for mechanical services design.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage both projects and teams effectively.
Excellent communication skills, capable of managing client relationships and representing the company at external events.
