Summary


We are looking for a compassionate, motivated individual with excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills who is dedicated to working as part of the team.

If successful you will be part of a team of research nurses, trial practitioners and administrative staff providing a comprehensive clinical trial/research study support service out of the Trust’s award winning R&D Department.

The role will involve the recruitment, education and monitoring of research participants into various research studies including Stroke and Hepatology specialities and the collection and documentation of accurate data. And you will also be a key driver of our recruitment and retention strategies for patients.



As a research nurse, you will be responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways of patients and carers participating in research studies in the Trust’s active research portfolio and ensuring good communication with other members of the R&D Department and Clinical Research Network (CRN).

The NIHR Clinical Research Network is the clinical research delivery arm of the NHS. They operate nationally across England through a national coordinating centre and 15 local branches delivering research in the NHS across all disease areas. They provide the infrastructure that allows high quality clinical research to take place in the NHS so that patients can benefit from new and better treatments The NIHR Clinical Research Network: North Thames is hosted by Barts Health NHS Trust.

This post is funded through the North Thames Clinical Research Network and you would be based at Broomfield Hospital, Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

You will mainly be focusing on stroke and hepatology research studies, however support may be needed to cover other speciality areas too, such as vaccine and urgent public health studies.
