This opening assignment is for 6-7 months

Assist in the development and support of the diverse range of information systems used across the Catering School Meals section, ensuring information is collated in conjunction with Welsh Government Guidance for Eligible Free School Meals and the School Essentials Grant.

Key responsibilities:

Provide technical support for the information management systems used by the Caerphilly CBC Catering, Finance and Education departments, ensuring information is held in accordance with regulatory requirements, accurate and suitable to meet reporting requirements.
Responsible for collating, recording, and managing data across multiple health and local authority information management systems.
Responsible for ensuring data across Post Office and local authority information management systems is accurate
Develop, produce and analyse performance information to support operational management and meet corporate and statutory requirements.
Provide financial support in respect of the implementation of the grants programme within Caerphilly CBC and associated packages.
Provide financial advice and assistance in respect of all aspects of the grants programme and provide financial advice on strategic planning and project evaluation.
Ensure all relevant information required in the production of the Council’s statutory final accounts is provided within the stipulated timetable.
Produce regular budget monitoring reports and other financial information in accordance with approved timetables.
Ensure grant claims and income are received and properly accounted for within the financial system.
Assist in the financial evaluation of projects for which applications for funding have been received and/or are being considered for submission.

Qualifications:

Relevant Level 4 qualification on the Credit and Qualifications Framework for Wales.

Knowledge:

Current detailed knowledge of Free School Meal application and School Essentials Grant information management systems
Knowledge and experience of a wide variety of software applications paying particular emphasis to the Microsoft Office Suite
An excellent understanding of data collection.
Understanding of General Data Protection Regulation, Information Sharing Protocols and Welsh Accord on Sharing of Personal Information.
An understanding of data protection requirements.

Experience:

Experience of using and maintaining various information management systems across health and local authority.
Experience of keeping accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible files, making effective use of IT where appropriate
Experience of working in an office environment.
Experience of planning and managing tasks to a successful conclusion.
Experience of dealing sensitively with enquiries and correspondence.
