Summary

MANUFACTURING ENGINEER
ST LEONARDS
CONTRACT (£21 per hour)

Gi Pro are seeking a EHS Specialist to join a multinational Electric company best known for its work in the Power, Renewable Energy, and Aerospace industries.
THE ROLE:
As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be required to:

  • Change implementation for Test Equipment.
  • Maintain and upgrade developed Test processes and equipment (i.e. Calibration of equipment, variant changes to Test processes, etc.)
  • Implement Test equipment in a timely manner to facilitate manufacturing.
  • Work in a team environment to solve issues to keep manufacturing goals and milestones.
  • Maintaining calibration of test equipment.
  • Operator Training and Production support.
  • First response for breakdown of equipment.
  • Test record checking and maintenance.
  • Work with test equipment suppliers directly.
  • Test and business IT systems maintenance.
  • Documentation update and creation of Work instructions, Risk Assessments, and operator training documents.
  • Continuous Improvement implementation for Test Processes.
  • TAP and Competent person for production.

THE CANDIDATE:
The ideal Manufacturing Engineer:

  • EHS compliance and safe working practices
  • Ability to deliver results, address and resolve technical issues.
  • 5 years' Experience in a manufacturing Test environment and knowledge of automated Manufacturing test equipment.
  • HNC/HND or Engineering Degree or equivalent in a related discipline.
  • Knowledge of HVDC product testing would be advantageous.
  • Interaction with others and good at sharing knowledge

Additional skills beneficial but not critical

  • Understanding of IT requirements for Test system integration.
  • Ni TestStand / LabVIEW experience.
  • Advanced manufacturing Methods and subsequent implementation, LEAN
  • Knowledge of business principles, strategy, and subsequent interface across all functions.

  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Self-motivating, proactive and results driven approach.
  • Problem-solving and root cause identification skills
  • Able to work to deadlines with good quality.
  • Proficient in the English language, written and verbal. Other languages are an advantage.
  • Fully conversant with ISO 9001: 2000 and ISO 14001 and preferably 18001.
