Summary

We have a current opportunity for a Domestic Abuse Navigator on a permanent basis. The position will be based in Swadlincote, Derby. For further information about this position please apply.

Job Title: Domestic Abuse Navigator

Hours: Monday - Friday 09:00 - 17:00

Location: Swadlincote Derby ( hybrid 2 days from home once trained )

Salary: £23,600 per annum

Key Responsibilities:

  • You will work in partnershi[p with South Derbyshire District Council ( SDDC) to coordinate referrals, assessments and support for individuals and families living in the private sector that require Domestic Abuse support services.
  • Carry our risk assessments within 48 hours of receiving the referral.
  • Carry out CAADA/DASH risk assessments to assess current risk and maintain detailed risk management plans.
  • Provide support in a sensitive way which considers complex needs and protected characteristics including age, gender, ethnic origin, language, culture, faith, sexuality, gender.
  • Support individuals on a one to one basis offering floating support across the county in individual's own homes or community venues that you have sourced.
  • Monitor service user health and well being working collaboratively with partner agencies where additional support is identified.
  • Be fully aware of any issues that may affect service user well being e.g. homelessness, domestic abuse, drug and alcohol addiction. Ensure comprehensive knowledge of Local Authority strategies, processes and resources in relation to these issues.

Skills and Experaince required for the role:

  • A working knowledge of legislation in regards to domestic abuse and housing.The ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and professionals within partner agencies.
  • Abiliy to travel throughout South Derbyshire area.
  • An understanding of the health and social care needs and risk management needs of the people receiving the service.
  • Motivated to make a difference and to improve the lives of vulnerable people.
  • Accountable decision making.
  • High level of professional integrity.
  • Maintaining accurate records that capture identified outcomes and Key Performance Indicators.
