Summary


Are you looking for a Specialist Band 6 physical rehabilitation Occupational Therapy post in West Hertfordshire? We are currently looking for an Occupational Therapist to work alongside the multidisciplinary team managing our patients on a non weightbearing pathway who are currently located at Forest Care Village in Borehamwood.

It is an exciting time to join the team in West Herts and we are seeking enthusiastic and skilled colleagues to join us as we build on existing models of care and introduce new ways of working.

The post holder will be required to complete assessments, interventions and rehabilitation programmes in order to aid the recovery of patients admitted to Forest Care Village. You will be required to provide excellent clinical reasoning and hold a caseload of patients within the service.

In this role you will be required to support the rehabilitation assistant working at Forest Care Village. Due to the location of the clinical aspect of this role the main administrative base would be at Langley House Watford. You would also work closely with Occupational Therapy collegues within our other bedded rehabilitation units to support service delivery, participate in service development and for your own clinical supervision.

• To assess the functional needs of patients providing intervention plans based on protocols and pathways aimed at improving function and reducing the impact of disability, working with clients to identify OT goals as part of their overall care plan.

· To complete OT specific assessments including those required to assess cognition, sensory, visual and postural needs, including planning and carrying out suitable treatment plans.

· To independently manage a delegated caseload of straightforward and complex cases demonstrating a high level of problem solving, clinical reasoning skills and professional judgement.

· To select and apply specific Occupational Therapy assessments addressing occupational performance and skills deficits enabling clients in the areas of productivity, self-maintenance and leisure.
