Summary


Oncology Prehabilitation Specialist Dietitian (band)7 0.6WTEbased at Royal Berkshire Hospital ReadingFixed Term until March 2027.



A collaboration between Macmillan, Royal Berkshire Hospital and Berkshire Healthcare NHStrustwe are able to offer a new role within oncology working with patients before commencement of their oncology treatment.


As the successful candidate, you will be based at the Royal Berkshire Hospital providing a specialist dietetic input into the oncology service, working closely with your MDT colleagues including consultants and specialist nurses.


This is a new role and part of the expectation is that the successful candidate will develop the service to deliver exceptional care and capture the benefits patients experience because of the role.


This role will provide you with excellent and supported professional and personal development. As part of theteamyou will have opportunities to be involved with the training of dietetic students, other dietitians and healthcare professions.


You would be joining a team of over 25committed and welcoming dietitians, who work in a range of specialist areas at the Royal Berkshire Hospital. Reading is the largest town in the UK with great shopping,nightlife, restaurantsand London is less than half an hour by train.




The role can accommodate a degree of flexible workinghowever, we would not be able to consider complete remote working.





You will be based at the Royal Berkshire Hospital in Reading working closely with the oncology consultants and specialist nurses to assess and advice patients. Our service uses a range of consultation settings to support our patients at all stages along their treatment pathway. Some of the areas of work include:

• Setting up a new service within the oncology team

• Being part of the MDT in assessing nutritional status

• Advising and supporting patients in both inpatient and outpatient settings

• Supporting the training of dietetic students

• Supporting peerswith specialist knowledge

• Implementing Quality Improvement programme to lead service development
