Summary
The post holder will be based in the Point of Care Testing room on the Rochdale Infirmary site. They will be responsible for the timely processing of patient specimens using the on site Point of Care Testing equipment.
The post holder will be able to work without direct supervision and will be able to work within Trust policy and protocols to ensure safe quality standards are maintained.
The post holder will be able to communicate with the wards and departments contributing to an effective team approach.
Unfortunately, this role does not meet the criteria required to qualify for sponsorship.
The post holder will receive, prepare and perform routine tests on samples using the Point Of Care Testing (POCT) equipment on the Rochdale Infirmary site.
The postholder will follow agreed policy and procedures to ensure safe practices are adhered to and quality and safety are maintained
The Rochdale Infirmary site has an Urgent Treatment Centre that offers a 24/7 service for both adults and children requiring assessment and treatment of a minor injury or minor illness, attendances of over 50,000 annually
There is a 24 bedded Clinical Assessment Unit for adult patients requiring an inpatient stay of less than 72 hours
Patients that do not require an overnight admission attend for medical assessment on the Same Day Emergency Care Unit
