About the role:
GMT Rubber-Metal-Technic Ltd is the UK based technical sales and distribution centre for a large global organisation.
Founded in 1968, GMT’s main business is the design, manufacture, and sales of anti-vibration mountings and rubber-to-metal bonded products for use by most industrial sectors including Aerospace, Automotive, Defence, Railways, Marine and Construction – indeed anywhere there is a need to isolate vibration and/or absorb shock.
GMT are now seeking an Assistant to the Technical Sales Team to work within our team supporting new and existing customer requirements and enquiries. The role is office-based and will primarily involve working on incoming customer enquiries and leads.

Key tasks and responsibilities:
• Interpreting customer requirements and liaising with the Engineering/Technical team where appropriate to meet their technical needs
• Dealing with customers’ day-to-day enquiries primarily by telephone, email, web calls and meetings
• Selecting the most appropriate product for each application (in conjunction with the Technical Team where necessary)
• Assisting the Technical Team with developing technical documentation to support the sales function
• Collaborating with GMT colleagues globally both from a sales perspective and from a costing perspective in regard to purchasing/sourcing of product
• Identifying new sales opportunities
• Supporting the quality engineering function through testing and inspection of parts

Skills and Experience:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to work on and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Good computer literacy
• Good commercial common sense
• An excellent work ethic
• Experience in a Commercial, Project Management or Technical sales / customer facing role would be beneficial but is not essential as training will be provided
• A good level of technical competency or a technically related qualification would be advantageous
Salary and Benefits
• £ excellent remuneration package dependent on experience
• Number of working hours per week can be agreed to suit the successful applicant but will need to be somewhere between 28 and 37 hours per week (note: 13:00 finish on Fridays)
• Working hours for part time employees can be agreed to suit both parties
• 25 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays for full time employees working 37 hours per week (pro rata for part time employees)
