About the Role

Base Location: Perth

Salary: £39,415 - £45,136 + car /cash allowance + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

The key duties & responsibilities of the Assistant Forestry Manager are:

- Assist Forestry Managers in forestry management planning, design and delivery of forestry operations across a given portfolio of projects through the SHE Transmission Network.

- Assist Forestry Managers in co-ordinating and ensuring the successful implementation of Forestry Project Management Service in order to deliver project programmes on time and within budget for Large Capital Projects across Base Capex, Customer Connections and Strategic Wider Works portfolios.

- Manage forestry related risk to future Network security.

- Assist in providing forestry management on sites at different stages in the development process both early on during the site identification and assessment phase, throughout development and during the project refinement and execution stages.

- Stakeholder engagement is an important element of this role, and you will have a wide array of stakeholders, both internal and external, to develop and maintain positive working relationships. These stakeholders include landowners, tenants, their agents, forestry contractors and relevant bodies such as the Scottish Forestry.

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

- Working knowledge of forestry management practice, forestry measurement protocols and forestry operations management and supervision, with emphasis on timber harvesting operations.

- Working understanding of UK forestry standard and best practice, with emphasis on knowledge of felling licence laws, woodland management planning and planting schemes.

- Working understanding of forestry valuation process of woodlands and standing tree crops.

- Working understanding of energy networks and their structure and governance.
