Summary

The Project Lead for The Battery of Ideas heads up a new and unique Place Partnership between East Suffolk Council and a creative consortium. The project will contribute to the function, programming and operation of Lowestoft’s new ‘Cultural Quarter’ which will be constructed over the next two years – to build inclusive community engagement and cultural participation into the heart of this major capital regeneration development for Lowestoft.
We are looking for a dynamic, creative and forward-thinking individual to lead this innovative project. This role would suit someone from a creative production background and has the opportunity for creative thinking and artistic programming. You will be working across a number of projects within the Place Partnership and will require excellent interpersonal and relationship building skills, plus ability to work with multiple partners across different sectors.
Led by First Light Festival CIC, the Battery of Ideas brings together a consortium of leading cultural, education and creative health partners in a town centre ‘meanwhile’ space ‘The Battery’ to agree and test ideas to drive inclusive creative participation and engagement, volunteering, creative skills and enterprise opportunities for the new Cultural Quarter over the next decade. A symposium for national policy makers and the cultural sector shares the learning and impact of this pioneering place partnership.
We welcome applications from a wide mix of people. We strongly recognise that our team has some way to go to better represent the diversity of modern Britain. We recognise that if you are from a background that is currently underrepresented within the cultural sector you may need support to discuss how your experience is transferable to this role and there may be changes we need to make as an organisation to ensure you can fully contribute. We welcome these discussions and encourage you to get in touch for an informal chat to explore.
