Main purpose of the role:

Europcar is seeking a dynamic and experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our established team. As a Human Resources Business Partner (HRBP) with Europcar, you will play a pivotal role in aligning our HR practices with our business objectives. Serving as a key partner to our leaders, you will develop and execute HR initiatives aimed at elevating organisational performance and employee engagement. You will be an excellent communicator with a wide range of stakeholders, and have confidence in your ability to coach and influence managers at various levels within the business.

Reporting to the Head of HR, the HR Business Partner position holds significant importance within the HR function. It involves not only delivering exceptional generalist HR support but also collaborating closely with other members of the HR Management team to deliver our objectives to our internal customers.

After a period of initial training, the role will transition to a hybrid working arrangement, allowing for a flexible combination of remote working, visits to our branch network and at least 2 days a week in our Leicester Head Office.

Key responsibilities:

  • Employee Relations: Provide expert advice and guidance on employee relations matters, ensuring a positive and respectful workplace culture. Where required, personally conduct employee relations meetings and support managers with all aspects of formal processes.
  • Absence Management: Support managers in proactively managing short and long term absence through Company absence management procedures and the engagement of Occupation Health.
  • HR Compliance: Stay abreast of employment legislation and employment law changes to ensure HR policies and practices are compliant and aligned with best practices. Use and develop knowledge to maintain and update colleague Handbooks.
  • Change Management: Lead HR initiatives related to organisational change, ensuring smooth transitions and effective communication.
  • Performance Management: Drive performance management processes, including goal setting, performance reviews, and individual development plans.
  • HR Systems: Build your knowledge and experience of using and maintaining the Company HR systems so that you are able to provide guidance to users and contribute towards functional development.

Key Skills / Requirements

  • CIPD Qualification level 7 is desirable
  • The necessary skills to provide complex generalist HR and ER advice to managers and to conduct formal meetings
  • Have a strong understanding of employment law and its application to the workplace
  • Skills and knowledge to develop and maintain HR Policy & Procedure
  • Ability to coach and influence managers at all levels
  • Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • An effective team player but also self motivated, with the ability to work on your own initiative
