Summary
An exciting opportunity is available for an enthusiastic, motivated individual to join our team on Philip ward. Philip ward is 24 bedded D2A ward, it was newly opened in November 2022 with a new team of enthusiastic staff.
The ward caters to patients from hospitals around Staffordshire and Derbyshire who require a D2A assessment or further rehabilitation to facilitate a safe discharge from hospital.
The world’s population is ageing and we are all familiar with the challenges of meeting the needs of the growing number of older people here at University Hospitals of Derby and Burton and we all work tirelessly to ensure the right care and support services are in place when older people need them.

We are looking for a compassionate, dynamic, reliable and flexible nurse with an ability to demonstrate strong leadership skills and demonstrable post registration experience in an acute hospital setting.
Applicants will need to have excellent clinical skills, knowledge and communication skills with exemplary standards of care. Along with this being innovative, creating change and a passion for general medicine is a must.
It will be expected that you are a role model for the team and will motivate and inspire others to be the very best they can be.
We require a strong and visible leader to support the well established band 6 team and Senior Sister, striving towards continued excellence of care for our acutely unwell, vulnerable patients, whilst ensuring flow into and out of the department.
