Casual Support Worker position
£11.50 per hour. Sleep duties maybe required £63 per night
We have a great casual position on offer Telford, Shifnal and Bridgnorth services.
We are looking for a casual support worker to join our team, supporting adults with learning disabilities, autism and mental health needs. Our supported people enjoy a wealth of activities from chats, board games, walks and shopping. This is an opportunity to work within a diverse team, enhancing the lives of our supported people. You will need to be flexible to pick up shifts where the need arises.

Our supported people say;
“Telford, Leegomery, there are local shops near by, I live four and a half miles from Telford town centre, there are parks that are near to where I live. I like being with my family, I love my dog who is very important to me, I enjoy being with my friends, I don’t like being let down and need consistency. I like playing on my iPad and watching programs of my choice on tv.”

“I am a happy person, but takes time for me to get to know people. I need people to understand that I can become anxious with people that I do not know. It is important to me that people speak clearly and I can understand what is being discussed. I would like people to be able to cook food I like and to support me to make healthy choices. I would like people to love dogs as I do.”

Bridgnorth in upper town, within two minute walking distance from Bridgnorth high street, with a whole range of shops to use. “I like going out and socialising with my friends in the pub and a pint of shandy. I go to aerobics and swimming as it is important for me keep fit. I enjoy the company of other people, I would like people to be caring, compassionate and for people to enjoy going out in the community.”

Shifnal, 10min walk from the high street, parks near by the property of the PWS”I enjoy going out shopping, window shopping, going for bike rides with my friend and playing video games at home. It is important for me to have people that know how to cook, to support me to make healthy choices around diet.”

What is a support worker?
A support worker is great at building relationships, kind, respectful, patient and supports people to live they life they choose. It is a varied role that can include anything from supporting someone with household tasks like cooking to supporting someone with their hobbies and interests. Everyday is different as a support worker and you will be making a difference to someone’s life everyday.

*Some of the people we support all require some level of personal care, and support with all aspects of daily living from making meals to going out in the community. You may be lone working or working as part of a large team.

Essential Requirements:
Full UK Manual driving Licence
Good Communicator
Flexible
Able to problem solve
Ability to work alone
Have a good sense of humour
Able to lone work or work as part of a larger team
Desirable requirements:
Experience working with LD
Level two diploma in Health and Social Care
Level three diploma in Health and Social Care
The interview process:
