Summary


Ward 41 is looking for experienced nurses to take on the role of Clinical Sister/ Charge Nurse to support a newly developed service and expanding workforce.

Ward 41 is a 36 bedded unit which has 12 Hyper-Acute Stroke beds and 24 Acute Stroke beds. The successful post holder will be dynamic, flexible and have a positive attitude. They will become part of a multi-disciplinary, compassionate, collaborative and enthusiastic team who strive to deliver the best care for patients.

Please not this post is not suitable for applicants who are required to undertake the OSCE training programme. Applicants who do not have a current valid UK NMC registration will not be considered for this post.

Our services include providing emergency stroke treatments for patients across Warwickshire. Following emergency treatment, we support patients with the next step in their journey and recovery, which is undertaken either in the community or at either George Eliot Hospital or Royal Leamington Spa Hospital.

A shift/ team leader, providing clinical leadership and management support, developing and evaluating best practice within the department. The post-holder will deputise for the department manager as required.

Accountable for own actions in accordance with the Code of Professional Conduct. Will contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, trust and statutory guidelines and policies at all times.

Effectively communicate information regarding clinical decisions, policy and care pathways to patients/ carers and the multi-professional team.

A skilled practitioner and clinical leader providing support to the management team, participating in service/policy development.

Responsible for clinical assessment of a group of patients and management of a team, ensuring appropriate care is planned, implemented and evaluated/audited.

Organisation of cross-departmental/organisational activities including HR, resourse, and bleep holder responsibilities as appropriate.

Demonstrate highly technical and/or practical skills to ensure optimum patient management including; complex patient monitoring, equipment management and frequent administration of invasive tests/procedures.
