Summary
This is an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Psychologist to join the CAMHS team at The Lighthouse. The Lighthouse is the first UK Child House, a multi-professional service for CYP who have experienced child sexual abuse & a national leader in the field.
The post holder will provide administrative & clinical support for the CAMHS Team, with a focus on supporting the service's outcomes strategy & service evaluations. The post holder will attend team meetings as appropriate, collect & manage data, assist in clinical & research-related administration, conduct audits & service evaluations, & support training & project work. The post holder will have some opportunities to support assessments & therapeutic interventions.
The post holder will be supported through their induction & professional development, ensuring they are supported to identify key areas for development in a collaborative & nuanced way. Regular clinical supervision will be provided, as well as reflective group practice. There will be opportunities to make professional links within UCLH. The Lighthouse is also part of the PROMISE network of Barnahus services, with unique opportunities for national & international engagements with peer services.
In line with a temporary increase in funding we are recruiting to these positions on a fixed-term basis. Contracts are currently ending on 31st March 2025.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:
To provide administrative & clinical support for the CAMHS Team, with a focus on supporting the service's outcomes strategy, audits & service evaluations.
To develop systems that will effectively collect, analyse & report data pertaining to the key performance indicators of the service.
To provide administrative data management support for specific evaluation projects within the service as agreed with the line manager.
To work under the supervision of a qualified clinical psychologist or psychotherapist, to support the specialist multi-disciplinary assessments & therapeutic intervention programmes of children, young people, & their families, as appropriate.
To work on developing clinical materials for the CAMHS team, as well as service documentation & reporting.
To ensure the development & maintenance of the highest personal standards of practice, through active participation in internal & external CPD training & development programmes, in consultation with the postholder’s professional & service manager(s).
To attend team meetings as appropriate, assist in clinical & research-related administration, & support training & project work, as needed.

The Lighthouse Model
The Lighthouse is the first UK Child House, a multi-professional, child-centred & trauma-informed service for CYP who have experienced child sexual abuse & a national leader in the field. The Lighthouse provides a holistic assessment & medical support, emotional support & therapeutic interventions, advocacy & police interviews led by Clinical Psychologists. This child-centred concept has had proven success abroad, in particular Iceland, where there is evidence of increased convictions & improved health & well-being of the CYP.
After a successful pilot, funded by the Home Office, NHS England, Mayor’s office for Police & crime (MOPAC) & Department for Education from 2018 - 2022, the Lighthouse secured statutory funding from April 2022. NHS England commission the service which is provided by UCLH in partnership with NSPCC & Metropolitan Police Service. CYP who live in the five boroughs in North Central London: Camden, Islington, Enfield, Haringey & Barnet can be referred or self-refer to the service.
The Lighthouse Team
The service is jointly managed by the Lighthouse Operational Manager & the Clinical Lead. The Lighthouse service includes a CAMHS team of therapists (including Clinical Psychologists, Psychiatrist, CAMHS practitioners), Lived Experience Consultant, Paediatricians, Clinical Nurse Specialist for sexual health, Child & Family Practitioners, Play Specialist, & access to ‘Letting the Future In’ practitioners (NSPCC).
