We are looking for an exceptional leader to drive innovation across our digital portfolio to enhance the use of technology and data across all areas of the pharmacy service to support our mission to provide outstanding services.

Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to network and build strong relationships, experience of building and maintaining EPMA systems and a passion to foster integration of the digital and clinical workforces will be essential. This post is ideally suited to someone with extensive digital experience, as well as a strong grounding in clinical practice, who is motivated by well managed change across traditional professional boundaries.

The postholder will lead on all aspects of the digital portfolio including our IT systems and will be supported by a team of well-developed pharmacists, technicians and support staff.

You will be a role model for others and need a desire to utilise and develop digital solutions to improve pharmacy services and medicines safety across the hospital and the wider health economy
• Advise the department’s Senior Management Team in matters relating to information systems maintenance, options, optimisation and strategic planning. This includes updates on workplans and advice on required strategy aligned with wider hospital programme.
• Work with the Trust Chief Information Officer (CIO), Trust Chief Medical Information Officer (CMIO) and Divisional Medical Information Officers (MIOs) and Trust Chief Nurse Information Officer (CNIO) on pharmacy digital enabling issues and risks across the broad spectrum of digital work programmes and systems. This will include Electronic Prescribing and Administration systems, Trust wide Business Intelligence
and Pharmacy Systems such aseptic manufacturing, chemotherapy, JAC, pharmacy database management etc.
• Develop and review the Departmental Strategy for Information Technology and work with the pharmacy team to implement its components.
• Contribute to the development of strategic plans for specific areas of IT (procurement/ commerce; digital medicines).
• Contribute to the development and implementation of Clinical Trials as required.
